All About Me

http://www.flickr.com/photos/61139434@N07/8510828035/sizes/o/in/photostream/

I just wanted to take a minute to introduce you to my new blog.

It took me awhile to figure out my blog's name.  But, I did it.  My blog's name is Once Upon A Blog.

I chose this blog's name because I really like princesses.  I have been a little obsessed with princesses since I was two years old.  My favourite princesses are Jasmine, Rapunzel, and Merida.  I like to play dress up and read books and watch movies with all my favourite princesses in them.  The best part about dressing up like a princess is wearing the fancy dress and sparkly shoes.  Being my favourite princess is what I like most of all.

My mom thought it would be nice for me to share my thinking on my blog.  I am a busy girl! I go to dance class three times a week.  I take ballet, hip hop, and tap.  The best part about going to dance is learning new moves. Sometimes I even teach my family.  I also want to share my drawings with you too.  I love to draw, I do it lots.  I like to draw a picture or colour every day.  I am learning to read at school and like to practice with my family at my house.

I hope you guys enjoy reading my blog and will send me messages  about it.

(My mom is helping me with the typing...)

  1. What a great idea to start a blog! I really like the name too - it's very creative! :)
Blogging is a great place to get out your ideas and to share them with others! My Grade one students in Ontario have their own blogs too. They do their own writing and they've gotten a lot better over the year.
Have fun writing and happy blogging!

  3. Congratulations on your new blog. It was fun to learn all about what you like in your first post. I like princesses too. My favorite was Belle (Beauty & the Beast). I thought Jasmine made a great princess too. My daughters always liked getting dressed up like princesses too. There is something fun about sparkly shoes and pretty dresses.

I see you are learning to read. What books do you like to read? I teach first grade in Ohio. You can see the books we are reading on our Shelfari page: http://www.shelfari.com/o1514838505/shelf.

Good luck with your blog. I'm going to show your post to my first graders at the end of the week. I look forward to seeing more of your drawings.

    1. Thank you Cathy for reading my blog. My mom got a picture of Beauty and the Beast made of lego at Disneyland. My favourite books to read are princess books. Right now I am reading "Ariel-The Shimmering Star Necklace" my mom & sometimes my dad. I am looking forward to seeing what books you are reading with the grade ones.

I am excited you are going to share my blog with your class. I hope you can see my next blog post.

      I do love to draw:)

      Have a great day!

    2. I can hardly wait for your next blog, Ava. I was thinking I could name one of our puppies Princess, but, the last female went to her new home yesterday. We are going to keep one of the male pups so maybe we should call him Prince? What do you think?

  6. It looks like you are a big fan of Disney princesses. Have you been to Disneyworld or Disneyland and met any of them? Do you know of any other princesses other than the Disney ones? If you haven't read it yet, you should definitely find a copy of The Paperbag Princess by Robert Munsch (an excellent Canadian author) or you could just watch the video here:

    1. I am a big fan of Disney princesses! I have been to Disneyland three times. Each time I have met one or two princesses. The first time I went I wore my Snow white dress to the park. The second time I went I had breakfast with so many Disney Princesses. I got my picture taken with Ariel. The last time I was there, I got a picture with Merida from Brave, Cinderella, & The Queen of Hearts.

I actually have read "The Paper Bag Princess". I have read almost all of Robert Munsch's books. My favourite Robert Munsch story is "A Promise is A Promise." My second favourite is "The Paper Bag Princess." I live in Canada- Saskatoon, Saskatchewan actually. My mom met the illustrator of "A Promise is a Promise" Michael Kusugak when he visited her school.

Here is a link to listen to that story:

Thank you for reading and commenting on my first blog post.

      Talk to you soon!

  7. J'aime ton blog, Ava. Je pense que c'est une très bonne idée et je suis contente de l'avoir lu. Ce serait fantastique d'être une vraie princesse et d'habiter dans un château, n'est-ce pas? :)

    À demain!

    1. Merci Mme H. pour avoir lu mon blog.

I am excited to write my next blog post. It is going to be about mon école. Last week when my mom picked me up from school, we took some pictures of the school to post on my blog. I also drew a picture of school this weekend that I can include as well.

Oui, j'aimerai vivre dans un château!

See you in a little bit Mme Hegarty:)

  8. Bonjour Ava.

I had a good weekend- I went sopping at the mall with my dad and sister. I played with my little cousin and watched my sister in a tournament. I even had a little time to play and draw.

      See you at school!
